Great source for USRs and H&S Researchers One of the first things to be provided by the Unionsafety website from it inception in 2004, was the provision of an E-Library containing documentation relating to Health and Safety law, research documents and reports, and political decisions and policies which govern our everyday working and private lives.
Despite what many people may think, health and safety at work affects us not just at work but impacts on our and our families personal lives, and with climate change, environmental pollution of the air we breathe, rivers, seas and land; more and more of the things that impact our lives and health; are in need of highlighting and protections required to enforce health and safe standards on manufacturing, building, food production, and the chemicals and plastics which are increasing the risks to health and the environment. Factual evidence in research, in legislation, and in employment rights and those of Union Safety Reps; is key to arming ourselves with the knowledge we need to investigate, report, and campaign to ensure the threats to our safety and health both at work and at home; are addressed. Union Safety Reps in particular are active not only in workplaces, but also in the wider community, and it is only through the provision of facts, and knowledge of the issues involved, can we be effective in our roles and concerns for the implementation of standards applicable to addressing the risks to our health, safety, and ultimately our lives.
